Mother has just invited herself for supper. It was not in my plans, and now I’m really hoping I can find a shop open because I wasn’t planning on it. In the meantime, I’m resorting to Dutch courage (sorry to all my Dutch friends, I suspect you might call it English courage as the French do!)
