The real problem is the hysteria that's been created over measles over the years to fit their vaccine agenda. Other than a high temperature for a while it's a nothing burger. I don't know any kid I went to school with that didn't get it and can't remember anyone suffering any lasting effects after having it. Kennedy's over reaction is worrying for all the reasons you point out.
Dr Chris Raynor just put out a good video on measles on YouTube. It does in fact kill people. Infants are especially at risk. You can develop fatal encephalopathy years later if there is persistent asymptomatic spinal cord infection. And measles are extremely contagious. He did a good job explaning how it kills. And yet he still didn't push a vaccine agenda. Presented info so viewers can decide.
