I reviewed the latest Haruki Murakami for the NYT Sunday Book Review. There was a lot I wanted to talk about but word limits are word limits. Didn’t even have the space to mention that I read a big chunk of the novel in Tokyo, sitting in the kind of bar Murakami used to own before he become a famous writer, and all the interesting conversations I had with the other patrons.
