Stop stop stop passing the buck to teachers!!

Here’s more research confirming teachers are untrained, under-resourced and unprepared to teach financial education. It’s not a victory to simply pass these mandates in your state; they have to come with funding and processes to prepare educators to teach a new, complex and profoundly impactful subject.

Policymakers need to pay attention to research like this and listen to the needs of educators to ensure funding is in place to meet them when these mandates are implemented.

Most adults have had no financial literacy training. We are helping no one by requiring students to endure financial education taught by someone who knows exactly as little as they do about the topic.
