Some negative consequences of the AI boom no one is talking about
1. More spam
Vibe coding -> easier to make software products -> more businesses that need users -> more outbound marketing -> more spam.
Online founders have only so much attention and there are more and more people trying to capture that attention. If you're running an online business expect to get more and more spam landing in your inboxes and in your DMs.
The solution: Better systems and/or delegating inbox management to a VA
2. More distractions for undisciplined entrepreneurs
Vibe coding is magic.
It takes someone with basic technical skills and turns them into an engineer (not really). It makes it look easy and in many ways it is.
The problem I see is that vibe coding, LLMs and all this new tech are like new toys that are relatively easy to play with.
I personally know at least 2 experienced entrepreneurs who jumped on the AI train and now spend many hours every week playing with these toys instead of growing their businesses.
Most entrepreneurs, including myself struggle with focus. The last thing we need is another set of distractions to draw our attention away from our businesses.
The solution: Spend some time exploring the benefits of AI for your business and where it makes sense introduce it (where the cost to implement is low and the benefit is really high + it aligns with the goals for your business).
Where possible hire experts to either teach you, or make the changes in your business to lower risk and improve ROI.
