First words. First steps. First time sleeping through the night. First tooth. First time riding a bike.
But now, so many “lasts” have already slipped by.
The last time my toddler sat in my lap. The last time buckling them into their car seats. The last time being woken in the night to tuck them in one more time. The last time holding them in church. The last time hearing them say words wrong in that cute little kid way.
So many lasts have already passed, and it makes my mama heart ache. But I rejoice in getting to watch new firsts as they become the people God created them to be, and I'm enjoying the in between time when they're not little kids but not quite big kids either.
There are tender moments in each day. I pray they don't slip by unnoticed.
