In 2026, I am challenging myself to go beyond my dissertation and begin sharing public history & humanities content across Substack, YouTube, and Instagram.

And as I’ve been planning my first post, I am met with the hesitancy I believe many scholars experience when bridging the widening gap between academic research and public audiences. The fear of critique from peers in my field and possibly simplifying topics which deserve nuance.

Yet, I am still writing. Still finding a way to connect my research, personal musings on these subjects, and produce something which gets people engaged with history.
