I’ve known about all this most of my life, minus the specific details. My grandfather told me we would see this come to pass in my lifetime, so I paid attention to the minutiae; the words spoken that others didn’t pick up on, actions taken or not taken that were dismissed as inconsequential. Trying to warn people most of my adult life, I heard the label conspiracy theorist quite a bit. Being right doesn’t make it feel better. It’s still as heartbreaking as it ever has been.
