The Biggest Thing We Lost Wasn’t Our Craft. It Was Our Curiosity.

We often say we’re losing our crafts. I don’t think that’s entirely true. A lot of them still exist. What we’ve slowly lost is the curiosity to ask why they were created, what problems they solved, and what they can still teach us today.

Somewhere along the way, we became content with admiring crafts as heritage. We preserved the objects, but stopped exploring the ideas behind them. The intelligence remained, but our attention shifted elsewhere.

Maybe the future of Indian crafts doesn’t begin with preservation. Maybe it begins with curiosity. Because the moment we start asking better questions, our past becomes a source of inspiration rather than just history.
