Just a thought: if you usually deadhead your roses, leave the hips for wildlife this year. So many plants are fruiting early, while trees are dropping their mast now as a stress response to drought. There will be very little natural food for wildlife in autumn at this rate. So: leave your roses to develop hips, leave seeds on plants and do keep using grey water to keep your gardens hydrated. You’re unlikely to know whose life you’ll save but you’re bound to save some 🐾
