Ms Vance, Please don’t make interviews with Heather Cox Richardson only for Paid Subscribers to respond to. Your comment section says “Only paid subscribers can comment on this podcast.”
A lot of us are not even able any longer to cover our essential bills on fixed incomes, because all the corporations have jacked their prices up for electricity, insurance, taxes, food etc to where there is simply no way to survive. For 30 years since my husband died, I have lived frugally within my means of Social security and a small US Army pension. Now it is several thousand dollars a month less than enough to cover bare essentials.
A lot of us (many on fixed incomes because we are old) dont know what we will do, because there seems to be nowhere to turn. We are quietly sinking, a lot of us in despair. Some of us really, really angry at the injustice and brutality. This is not the America we should be.
We NEED people, especially now in this chaos, like Heather Cox Richardson, Timothy Snyder, Andy Borowitz, and great legal minds like the interviewer Ms Vance. We need to learn what is actually going on. And what we can do to put our efforts to making it in some way better.
As regards the dictum of your Comments, It is painful to feel we are shut out because we are poor (Yep. That is what it is, actually, folks. We thought we were middle class. But we are not any longer.)
Please change the rules on commenting on these important interviews. You inadvertently have created yet another Haves-and-Have-Nots category. It would be really nice if you would correct that. Thanks.
