I was a little miffed today to read Charlie's link to the GOP meeting. This was the quote that jumped out at me: "Further fueling the raw feelings are personal threats lawmakers and their families are now facing over the speaker vote. Rep. Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.) disclosed to his colleagues on Thursday that he had placed a sheriff at his daughter’s school."

Don't these people realize that ordinary librarians, teachers, school board members, and small town commissioners do not have the resources to place sheriffs at their children's schools? Why are death threats to those people A-OK?

When is someone going to come out and make a speech that says, "If you're threatening violence for a difference of political opinion, we don't want you in our party. You are not a Republican. You are not a Democrat. And you're definitely not a patriot."?
