Just spent 2 hours and a few cups of peppermint tea creating a new family time block schedule. This is to help us stay better on track with homeschooling, my own creative pursuits, and maintaining the home.
Here’s what I’m taking away from it:
there’s too many moving pieces as a family of 6 with kids ages 11 months to 15 to wing our days
I like being spontaneous, but that really just meant the most important tasks don’t get done and my house is a mess.
Making an individual time block for each child is more realistic, to account for their needs and activities
I’ve gotta start getting back up at 5am again if I want consistent writing time
I’m mimicking the French and adding in an afternoon goûter because my kids are hobbits.
Do you time block? Hate it? Let me know…
Note inspired by Meredith Hinds’ latest posts on time tracking for her family.
