And honestly, it helped me to see how the village I’ve been steadily building for the last 4 years has my back. When I went to the ER last fall, my husband was out of town, my oldest 30 minutes away at dance. So I took my youngest 3 with me to the ER. Not ideal! A homeschool mom friend picked up my oldest from dance, drove up to the ER, and took my youngest kids to go get snacks at the grocery store while I was being treated. Once we got home (and my husband still wasn’t home) I knew I wasn’t well enough to parent. So I called an older mom from church and she came over to watch the kids while I rested. The village had my back that day!
