This is an insightful piece from the point of view of a short man. I think it’s also interesting in terms of how society regards women who, on average in North America, are 5+ inches shorter than men. So many times when I was Premier, I would meet people who would remark that they thought I was taller than I actually am (5’ 4”). Leaders are assumed to be tall. Podiums are built for tall men. ‘Small but mighty’ is a jocular expression of surprise that a small person could wield power.
