Another Macabre Monday is here and I should be doing some serious “adulting”, yet here I am sharing my next attempt to write a Horror poem. I used Microdosing theme: surrender, because, well just because. Nothing too original, but here goes:
Surrender (Underneath the old tree)
Surrender, my lovely,
Surrender to me;
I’m no stranger to
Apathy. Lay down
Underneath the old tree,
Sweet hours of
Deadly letargy
Will bind your memory.
Forget yourself!
Remember me?
I’m that quiet boy.
You lived next to me.
We used to play as kids
Underneath this tree.
When we got older
You kissed me softly.
You said, you loved me.
You cheated on me
Underneath the old tree.
You moved to the city.
Forgot about me.
I will refresh your memory;
You said we grew apart,
You pitied me
Right from the start.
You said it wasn’t love.
Just sympathy.
You’ll have to reconsider,
My lovely! Surrender
To me! One last kiss
Underneath the tree
Is all I need. The hours
Will bleed their tired minutes
As we lay, you and me,
Underneath the old tree.
May death cover us softly
With its grass-green sheet.
Underneath the old tree
Our grave will forever be.
