Make money doing the work you believe in

It’s very upsetting to me how many women on the right are making money and gaining status telling other women to stop making money and give up their status. Why is it okay for them to desire and pursue things outside of motherhood and homemaking and not okay for the rest of us? If these things are really all-fulfilling and the only important thing we can be doing, why are they spending time and energy writing books and creating courses about it which they sell to the rest of us (who are supposed to buy it with our husband’s money we are stewarding prudently for only the necessities…feels almost like a pyramid scheme….)?

These types will often say stuff like “well, of course, sometimes the family can’t survive on one income” kind of implying the only reason you would work is out of grave necessity, but I wish they would just be honest and acknowledge that work can be fun and interesting, most of us have things we want to do in addition to mothering/homemaking, and it’s good to get money when you put valuable things out in the world (“the laborer deserves his wages”, as Scripture says.) Those reasons are surely a big part of why these women work, and I feel like the least they could do is be real with us about it.
