Let’s be honest: if your soil is heavy clay, if it’s stony—it’s going to be more work than if you have sandy soil or holy-grail-loam. I know someone who plants 1500 small bulbs in 2.5 hours. (caroljmichel.com/anothe…) It takes me a lot longer in my rocky clay soil, but I still do it.

Here in the States (and probably elsewhere) we call them bulb lawns. People drive by to admire the few there are, and then they think, “Omg, that must be a lot of work.”
