Make money doing the work you believe in

As I walked off the plane in Rochester, NY, and headed toward baggage claim, I noticed a woman completely captivated, stopping to take a picture of the Frederick Douglass statue. I don’t usually tell people who I am in moments like that, but she was so into it that I thought she might get a kick out of knowing that the hands on the statue are mine. So I introduced myself. She was absolutely blown away. She had no idea that Frederick Douglass is buried here, or that Rochester was his home for 25 years. It was such an unexpected encounter, and I always get a thrill out of seeing people connect with his legacy in moments like that.
