Ajit is doing fine— getting competition from the Punjab Times, Jagbani and the Punjabi Tribune, but it is still by far the leader in Punjabi journalism.

Thank you for this important history lesson. It is painful to see elite Panjabis speak in Hindi to appear more refined and sophisticated. Even in Punjab, Panjabi is still considered the language of the uncouth. The vulgarity of popular Punjabi music and movies does not help. Not sure if the Daily Ajeet is still publishing. Used to see it a lot in my youth along with the Urdu Hind Samachar
