I’m sorry, but someone, ANYONE, of mass influence needs to start standing on street corners in middle class suburbs and screaming about the vile nature of this apathy towards democracy. The people who care more about gas pricesTM and inflation(c) should have to have their social media feeds flushed with videos of important people shaming them on a loop .

The notion that it’s a totally respectable position to prioritize one’s own mildly annoyance, or even not insignificantly economically hardship, over the possible washing away of all the gains made in the post-war era -killing the world’s oldest existing democracy, potentially leaving tens of millions in Eastern Europe at the fate of Christian nationalist tyrants andinvaders, abandoning the goal of standing with freedom-loving peoples all over the world (Ukraine, Taiwan, Iran to name a few) - is something every citizen of good will should view with nothing short of revulsion and distain.

Everyone in the coalition of the decent should remember that such selfish actions taken by our fellow Americans are worthy only of open mockery and contempt.
