To the pundits and talking heads commenting on the cost of Canada breaking free from the US economy and supply chains.

Here’s what I think.

For too long, we relied on our trusted, long-standing trade relationship. If there were rubs, sane, deliberate, intelligent people sorted things out.

But no more! There’s a madman who occupies the Oval Office.

Now, it’s time to stand alone. Break from the US. Withhold the things they want and need from us: fertilizer, potash, softwood lumber, hydro, rare minerals, uranium, aluminum, water, free access to the northern passage… and more!

We’ll be just fine! We are a country rich in resources and determination! It may take awhile to build our infrastructure and negotiate new deals with other countries, and there will be a financial cost, but we will do it.
