At the risk of doxing myself, I went to a very left wing alternative high school in Seattle, and a lot of my friends participated in protests, most notably the 1999 WTO “Battle in Seattle”, so I go way back with these things. It literally took me 20 years to understand that it’s not about efficacy or actually accomplishing anything, the protest is the actual point because they like to protest, it’s really that simple
