As someone who doesn’t see a reason to turn on my Substack paywall, I come at writing from a different perspective than Warner, who seems to have made it into the small club of people who actually make a living as a writer. Will that club still exist next year?
My answer is "yes," and Warner's explanation of the educational value of writing is a big part of the reason.
