That said, Kirk Cameron is board chair of a new book fair company hoping to disrupt Scholastic’s share of the market and shove a right-wing agenda into the schools. I don’t believe the books shown here are included–and if they are and I were author of some of those books, I’d be getting on the phone with my publisher.
Recall Cameron has been behind creating right-wing storytimes at public libraries (See You At The Library will become an annual event) and he’s part of Brave Books, a right-wing publisher who has done a lot of sharing lies about what happens at Scholastic book fairs.
With Scholastic stepping in it with their terrible decision to force school librarians to choose whether or not to include the company’s diverse book case, do not for a second think this is a better solution. It’s not.
