Edwin Canizalez is a poet, writer, emerging thought leader, and all round good egg. He tagged me in to explain a little more about who I am and how I landed here on Substack.
I’m Kelly Louise, a poet & writer, who is also a trained Mindfulness Teacher, & Wellness Coach. ‘Ommmm, scribble, scribble, ommm’, (that’s me!) I live with chronic illness and writing acts as a form of catharsis for me. It is also the thing I love to do most in the world. I came to Substack after graduating from my MA in Creative Writing, and knowing that I didn’t want to put all that knowledge to waste, but to create a community here on substack for other poets and writers like myself, or unlike myself. I don’t really care who you are, where you’re from, what you did, - as the Backstreet Boys once sang! All are welcome.
In a world that appears to fracture more each moment, it feels like a tiny miracle to be here on Substack, a place that promotes and encourages community. I also love to sit and silently wow, at the brilliance of the poems and pieces of writing that I get to see here on a daily basis. To grab a cup of tea, and disappear into a world of words. Or, to be able to instantly share a poem that punched me in the guts, and ordered me to post it that very moment with this virtual world of writers.
I am grateful and a little over whelmed that I get to continue to do the thing that I love to do, in a world that tells creatives we can’t, because of this here, Substack.
