Back when I was in my 20s, my roommate said, “Kelly Rae, let’s create the lives of our dreams.” We were both young, broke, hopeful, and still becoming. I remember how deeply her invitation landed in me: to imagine what we truly wanted and then slowly, imperfectly, courageously build from there.
I wrote journal pages filled with lists of what I wanted my life to look like, who I wanted in it, and what I wanted to be doing. One vision at a time until a life I loved unfolded.
I still think it’s a beautiful practice to pause every now and then and ask ourselves: Do I love my life? Are there small shifts that might bring me closer to myself? Where am I being invited to be braver? What might I need to release to make room for new growth?
My little family is deep in the middle of unexpected stress and big pivots right now, including a second move in six months. It has been a whirlwind season, friends.
But underneath it all, I keep feeling the invitation to create. Create community. Create more self-compassion. Create new habits. Create new stories. Create a new era. Create a life we love.
I trust that even in the most unlikely, stressiest of seasons, beauty finds a way to sprout.
My hope is that wherever you are in your own becoming, you are gently and bravely creating a life you love, too. I’m right here alongside you.
Big love, Kelly Rae
