I’m told best practice is to re-introduce yourself and your Substack on Notes every now and again for new people who aren’t familiar with you.
So, I’m an award-winning journalist on the staff of The Times, with a career that includes work as a newspaper editor, a war correspondent, a film critic and a political columnist. My Substack is called The Jaggy Thistle and it’s where I write about Scotland in all its wondrous complexity, as well as the wider world from a Scottish point of view. With the Holyrood election in May it’s a big year for Scotland, and I aim to be a trusted companion while we explore its light and shade.
