Free idea: before a junior’s augmented code is merged the author needs to demonstrate what they learned in the process. Interacting with a senior who has plenty of time could provide this but seems unlikely if not already in place organically.

Could we write a tool that knew about the author’s skills & checked that those skills were still growing? “I see you used floating point numbers with equality. Let’s see what you understand about IEEE double precision floats…”

The goal is not yet another hurdle to be crossed, but the reinforcement that juniors are already expected to use coding, augmented or not, as learning first, production second.
