I can’t imagine a weaker response than Schumer capitulating immediately to a horrible bill that includes provisions which actually empower Trump/Musk to do the very things Schumer says he is seeking to avoid. No negations? No effort to weaken the most egregious provisions?

Perhaps Schumer presumes that the consolidation of incompetently autocratic power will lead to such catastrophic consequences that even MAGA faithful will begin to question their unquestioning loyalty. This seems a strategy based on the hope that the authoritarian regime gives one ruddy fuck about anything beyond grasping and retaining power.
