I Lost My Job and Walked Away From My Startup on the Same Day

Welcome to my first post. This is the story of how I got here.

It was March 2025.

Telesign: gone to M&A restructuring.

Talkonomy: cofounders who called me a founder but not an owner.

Two losses. Same day. Not the fresh start I'd imagined.

But it forced a question I'd been avoiding: What do I actually want the next chapter to look like?

The Safe Path Was There

$300K roles. Senior Director titles. VP tracks. Back to fighting for innovation from inside organizations.

I've done that for 20 years. I've done it well:

  • Coca-Cola's London Olympics global mobile activation (Cannes Lion winner)

  • Powerade's FIFA World Cup integration (1 billion impressions)

  • AT&T messaging standards still used globally

I know how to navigate enterprise politics. I know how to build consensus. I know how to push innovation through organizations that resist it.

But AI is moving faster than any wave I've seen.

And I couldn't afford to spend another decade convincing.

So I Built Instead

Three AI ventures. Bootstrapped. No safety net.

1. Aethova Co-founded with Carlos Pimenta. We built a platform that cuts enterprise strategy work from 6 weeks to 2 days using multi-agent AI orchestration. Live prototype in market.

2. AIReadyIn180 Executive AI training that actually sticks. 60+ senior executives trained. Not theory. Not certifications. Working systems they use the Monday after we finish.

3. MySonicID Audio authentication for messaging fraud prevention. Patent pending.

I did all of it as a single mom of two boys.

Not for the faint hearted.

Why I'm Writing This

I've spent 20 years riding digital transformation waves. Content platforms. Mobile. Social. Now AI.

Every wave, the same pattern: I see it early, I operationalize it, I help define what sticks.

This newsletter is where I'll share what I'm learning in real time. What's working. What's breaking. What the gap looks like between AI potential and AI execution.

Because that gap is where most companies are stuck right now. They're past "should we do AI?" but nowhere near "we're actually shipping AI."

If you're in that gap, this is for you.

Where I'm Starting 2026

I'm taking on fractional CPO/COO work with organizations ready to operationalize AI, not pilot it forever.

I'm building in public with Aethova.

I'm training executives who want to ship, not just learn.

And I'm writing here to make sense of what I'm seeing.

One Question

If 2025 knocked you sideways too, what choice did you make that scared you?

Hit reply. I read everything.

Subscribe if you want to follow along. I'll be sharing the messy middle of building AI ventures, training executives, and figuring out what actually works.
