Substack Potluck! 🥘
Credit for this goes to Elizabeth off a chat we had on my fairy bread post last week. Let’s all have a FRICKING, BIG FEAST!
Everyone, bring one dish. Doesn’t have to necessarily be something from your country. Just something that represents you. Tell us the story behind it as we break bread together, then tag at least three other people.
So assume I’m bringing fairy bread as dessert, but my main is going to be snags (aka bbq sausages in white bread).
Us Aussies are pretty uncultured, but nothing unites us more than the humble snag. It’s not only a staple at BBQs over the summer, community groups will hire out space outside our biggest home and hardware stores and sell snags to people on their way in and out to raise money.
10+ years back there was a big kerfuffle about whether the grilled onions go on top or on the bottom of a snag. It reached the mainstream media and says a lot about our priorities.
OK let’s start filling up these tables, I want to hear what JHong, Carlos M., Elizabeth Hagenlocher, Ariadne Pautina and Whimsy & Woe are going to bring!
