If you ever lamented missing the “digging through bins in weird stores for hidden gems” era of vinyl, now is the time to get into CDs, because that’s exactly where it is right now - nobody knows what the good stuff is, there’s too much of it to easily sort through, and the vultures haven’t gotten to it yet. I went to a 4 for a dollar CD sale yesterday and walked out with an armful of New Age, electronica, and weird self-published punk and metal CDs for a couple bucks.

I talked to a guy at a local repair shop the other day, and he said they almost can’t keep CD changers and similar stuff in stock, because it just flies off the shelves. I fully expect eBay people to pick all this inventory clean in the next few years.
