The Trump Administration just quietly banned Women Veterans from accessing essential healthcare services at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

On December 18, 2025, Trump’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) issued a memo that demanded the VA immediately cease, providing necessary abortion services for women veterans throughout the United States.

Earlier this year, the Trump administration proposed a change of regulation through the standard rulemaking process, but the public feedback was overwhelming in opposition to their new restrictions. (See On Offense story from August.)

They did this while Epstein and Venezuela were dominating the new cycles and we were entering a season when many people disconnect from the news.

Lives will be lost. Women veterans will be forced to carry to term unviable pregnancies. Women veterans will lose their ability to reproduce. Women veterans will have their lives and careers, disrupted or destroyed. Families will be forced into poverty. The devastation that this Trump policy will cause is incalculable.
