Through the latest conversations I now think I was wrong when I said:
On Substack you OWN your audience.
Your audience isn’t a list. It’s humans who would follow you even if a platform disappeared.
Which means the real asset is trust.
So it's more that I could say: 18,000 people trust me and not 18,000 are on my email list and I "own" this audience.
