photo challenge: In the Moment…

The phrases heard most coming from me on hikes:

• Look at this!

• What is that?!

• Wait a minute…I have to take a picture!

• We get to be here!

Anyways - here is some sappy bark and a shell afixed to a rock on the beach…they were what I noticed in the moment.

The hand of a resident where I work. She's noticing her brain isn't working quite how it used to, but when I ask her about her younger days, her eyes light up as she shares her story. And for a moment, she forgets that she forgets.

And finally, my husband's hands. The TV playing a movie he was “watching”…and the phone, snatching the moment away.
