It is more like a democracy, where the majority rules. Just so happens it’s a ‘majority of elites’. Also, it’s part of the brainwashing. Wikipedia confuses the issue, on purpose, to make the uneducated believe the USA is a democracy. We are not a democracy. We are a democratic republic and we are supposed to be ruled by law, NOT majority. The majority can be bribed with welfare payments and loan forgiveness. The candy givers aren’t supposed to win elections like Student Council members! This isn’t a popularity contest, per se, and the Congress and the Electoral College have the right and responsibility to protect our Constitution from democracy.
