It’s been one year of Substack for my little corner in this space, Musings of a Mother! ✨Thank you to everyone who has read, followed, supported, shared and encouraged my musings during this time. I’ve connected with so many wonderful women and have found a strong sense of peace in discovering there are other mothers out there who have intense love for their families, their homes and their faith!

A (lengthy) reintroduction:

My name is Larson and I’m a wife to my amazing husband and mother to our three incredible children (ages 5 and under), with one on the way, due early fall!

I am a homemaker, we are a homeschool family, I’m a proud Catholic woman (not cradle Catholic, I was confirmed 9 years ago this month) and we live on a farm in the countryside of Texas, where it takes 30 minutes to get anywhere and my children are outside, running feral from sunup to sundown.

I love to cook, I love to tend my home (we live in a doublewide mobile home!), I love to garden, I love to be outside and I love taking care of my family. I’m pretty “crunchy,” whatever your definition of that might be, but I enjoy a good homemade ham sandwich with potato chips for lunch or a crisp glass of Italian wine on a hot summer day.

Motherhood is my passion, my God-given vocation, my calling, my joy and my children are my life; I’m all in, all day, every day, on being their mother. It’s a privilege that I will never take for granted! My family is the greatest gift I could ever be blessed with.

I also love to write, create and connect, all of which is offered to me here on Substack. A few years ago I self-published a series of cookbooks titled A Month of Dinner, with recipes written for real life, designed particularly for moms, the everyday home cook, and my social media grew from 800 to over 8,000 in a matter of months. As brand partnerships, paid collaboration deals, even TV opportunities came in, I “quit” it all to continue to be a fully present mother. While I was happy with my decision, I missed having a creative space where I could connect with other women, and I’m so glad to have found that through Substack.

I’ve been blown away by the number of mothers I’ve connected with who are like me, something I hadn’t found on Instagram. Women who love being a mom, who live in the country, who have large families, who are homeschooling, who are proud of their faith, who enjoy many of the same things I do. It’s been a breath of fresh air and I hope to continue to connect with you here!

Phew, can you tell I’m a talker?!

Thank you for being here and reading my musings of a mother! 💛

Recent pictures (very rare) of my husband and I at a late-March Hill Country wedding, and hugs from my children as we found out we’re expecting a baby girl 🩷
