This is a capture of one of my son’s first steps. I could hardly see the camera as I was blinded by the sun yet after reviewing the photos later that day I was stunned by the light that hit the lens in just the right way and the composition of Fynn walking towards the shadow, his hair reflecting the light shining with the dark backdrop whilst his feet and shadow walk in the bright part. The Glastonbury Abbey always makes for a good background but specifically the stairs leading up to the portal opening gives it a divine connotation. And works well with the theme of evolution of birth, death, rebirth. The former catholic monastery got destroyed by Henry VIII but has been a sacred place of pilgrimage for the claimed grave of King Arthur and his Queen Guinevere. It is build on a power place of dragon/ley lines crossing and has many weather streams flowing underneath, of sacred springs flowing together. long before the church was built it has been a place of reverence and ritual for the Druids and indigenous peoples of this land. My son being able to walk in the footsteps on his ancestors makes my heart happy.
it’s been a while, - I congratulate you for a whole year of photo challenges! They are always inspiring and powerful processes! Here is my entry, i love the theme!
