One of the things I love about having my own Substack is getting to tell the stories that don’t fit anywhere else. I’ve been a magazine journalist for almost two decades, and everything I write usually has to align with a publication’s voice, strategy, and goals.

This is the first time I get to just write whatever I want…. niche and local stories… the things that don’t fit traditional media. It feels like old-school blogging in the best way.
