I don’t know why there is this debate Substack vs journalists. As it’s very inaccurate:

• many journalists enrich their writing with a more personal POV here

• authors keep adding links and references to media, other authors. It’s the return of outbound link and…sourcing

• journalists tap into Substack to nurture their thoughts

In a era where everything is media, having a new check & balance is positive. Sloppy or performative content do exist - it did exist in the first blogging era anyway. But the fact that long-form, well documented and exigent posts can happen, is already a good thing. My theory: good work pays off, especially here.
