My favorite image for 2025 is this shot of the helical staircase at the Art Institute of Chicago. Is it my best of 2025? I'm not sure; I didn't even go back to look at what else I photographed throughout the year. I knew immediately I would choose this shot.

Why? Because I have wanted to photograph this staircase since I saw an image another photographer took back in 2013. Imagine never going there for 12 years? Never.

I finally went this year. I'm excited to go back and spend more time there.
