I had to really sit with this theme before landing on this photo of me and my dog Molly (the goodest girl). It was difficult to capture this month in just one photo as it’s been a journey of complex emotions ~ joy, grief, fear, sadness, love. It really felt like a month of full spectrum living, meeting all parts of the human experience. This month, I had to say goodbye to my family in Canada and fly back home to Australia. I was visiting family for 3 months after being separated for 4.5 long years due to the pandemic, and I am holding the memories we created together so close to my heart. It was a tender transition back to Australia while navigating the living grief I always carry with me in my invisible knapsack of human-ing because of living so far from family, it’s hard to reconcile such a values clash. And, it’s also been a month of full bodied love, deep trust, and many glimmers of joy ~ a treasured resource.
My favourite season is autumn 🍂 and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to include some fall foliage in my photo. Molly & Me, here on my parents front lawn of my childhood home.
Thank you for this beautiful opportunity again to share ourselves through imagery and words. I deeply appreciate it xx
