Life Missions in a Suitcase?
After a week in Europe, my two girlfriends and I were packing for our flights home—to the US, London, and Korea. As we wrapped and weighed our bags, worried about airline limits, I noticed how different the contents of our suitcases looked
Beyond the basics, my London friend’s luggage was half-filled with gluten-free baked goods she’d hunted down across cities. My Korean friend’s bag overflowed with skincare products. Mine? Unique apparel from small boutiques.
Here’s the thing; These differences weren’t random. My London friend, although an Economist by profession, has been running a gluten-free living social advocacy account since being diagnosed with celiac—and loves to try new gluten free recipes herself. I know she’ll open her own bakery one day. My Korean friend, who although works in media, never stops teaching me about skincare. Her future skincare clinic feels inevitable
And me? That day I realized that while I care for many things, what I care for the most is artisans—those who quietly craft beautiful designs and fashion but remain overshadowed by big brands or cut off from global markets. And I want to help them find visibility and access while surrounding myself with what I love most
And that is how I, and my friends, discovered perhaps what will come to be our very own life missions
