Thank you for sharing this. It is a perspective that doesn't get nearly enough attention. I witnessed this firsthand at a former church I attended, and it left a deep impression on me. The pastor there poured his heart into challenging the congregation to move beyond surface level Christianity and truly examine what was in their hearts. Rather than receiving that message with openness, many felt he was being too harsh and struggled to see past the directness of his message, questioning his heart for them as individuals and missing the deep care and love that was behind every word. It was heartbreaking to watch someone so dedicated to his flock be treated that way. I'd love to hear more about what came up in those discussions and how we can better protect and support our pastors.
