Make money doing the work you believe in

I got my EB1A approved in 2021.

If I were applying again as a Product Manager today, here's what I'd do...

I'd start by building the evidence.

Because EB1A is something you build towards over time.

When I started thinking about my own application, I worked backward from the criteria and deliberately looked for opportunities that could strengthen my profile.

Things like:

  • Judging the work of others

  • Publishing articles

  • Speaking at industry events

  • Filing patents

  • Building products with measurable impact

  • Joining selective professional associations

But knowing what evidence you need is only half the problem.

You also need to know where to find the opportunities to build it.

So I put together a resource specifically for Product Managers pursuing EB1A.

Inside, I've mapped out opportunities across the different criteria, including:

  • Conferences and speaking opportunities

  • Publications you can contribute to

  • Hackathons and competitions you can judge

  • Professional associations worth exploring

  • Awards and recognition programs

  • Patent and original contribution opportunities

I've also included guidance on how to think about each criterion as a Product Manager.

The goal is to help you intentionally build a body of evidence that demonstrates sustained impact in your field.

This is the approach I took when building my own EB1A profile.

And it's the approach I'd take again today.

If you're a Product Manager considering the EB1A route, I think this will save you a lot of research.
