English learners, do you feel that understanding English is easier than speaking English?

Don’t worry! This is completely normal!

Think about what you can do in your own language.

English is my first language but there are words I don’t use. I might understand them when I read or hear them, but I probably wouldn’t say them myself.

I can talk about a lot of different subjects completely comfortably but if I try to explain something about economics or politics, I get a bit stuck because I don’t know enough about these topics to be sure I’m using the right words.

When I’m writing, I even question my grammar occasionally! Sometimes I check things online or find another way to say the sentence!

I’m sure you have experienced some of these things in your first language too.

So of course, it’s going to happen in English as well, right?

This is normal and not something to worry about.
