In my Women’s Conversation Club yesterday, we were talking about food - always a popular topic!

We also talked a bit about countable and uncountable nouns.

Sometimes, uncountable nouns can become countable.

These sentences are good English:

→ We have a lot of different fruits in our country.

→ What are your favourite foods?

→ Can we have two coffees, please?

But “fruit”, “food” and “coffee” are usually uncountable, right?

So how do you explain this?!

And can you think of any more uncountable nouns which behave like this?
