A question from my Women’s Conversation Club meeting yesterday:

What’s the plural of “syllabus”? Is it “syllabuses” or “syllabi”?

(Syllabus = an outline of the topics covered in a course)

I personally prefer “syllabuses”.

“Syllabi” is possible but less common.

And what’s the plural of “cactus”? “Cactuses” or “cacti”?
