I’ve been away for a bit, and I have my girlfriend to thank for it.
We just finished celebrating her birthday, a weekend that served as a loud, happy reminder of why we need these connections. Whether it’s a partner who keeps you grounded, friends who fill your house with noise, or pets who just want to be part of the huddle, there’s a specific kind of gratitude that comes from being fully present with the people you love.
I’m not usually one for the soppy, mushy stuff, but she's not just one amazing woman she’s also the best reason I’ve ever had to go quiet on here. Though, to be honest, I did manage to celebrate a little too hard, apparently, seven-tequila-me (don't judge me!) thinks of himself as some kind of world renowned philosopher, while next-morning-me just wanted to apologise to my dignity, we've all been there!
It felt good to be away, and it feels good to be back.
I’m curious, how do you all prioritise the important people in your life? Is there a specific ritual or type of connection (friends, partners, even pets) that helps you feel your most grounded?
